Terms of Service for Participation
By participating in the ComSSA December Hackathon: New Light, you agree to the following terms:
1. Eligibility:
Participation is open to all individuals who comply with the guidelines and requirements set forth for each event. All participants must be a student enrolled in high school, TAFE or university and be over the age of 16. If you are under the age of 18, we require your parent or guardian's permission to participate (we will reach out to you after signing up).
2. Priority:
All participants will be subject to a system of priority whereby the following factors will lessen the priority of accepting a participant’s registration:
a. whether the participant was part of a prize-winning team in previous Hackathons
b. whether the participant has joined the Hackathon Discord server
c. whether all 12 teams have been filled before the participant has completed their registration
3. Conduct:
All participants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally towards others. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated. ComSSA reserves the right to remove participants who violate these standards.
4. Liability:
ComSSA is not responsible for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property that may occur during participation in events. Participants engage at their own risk.
5. Media Consent:
By participating, you consent to the use of any photos, videos, or recordings taken during the event for promotional purposes unless you explicitly opt out by notifying us in writing.
6. Amendments:
ComSSA reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes before they take effect.
By participating, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
